The monumental statue has just been unveiled in India and the proportions are truly gigantic at over quarter of a kilometer high!
This is the statue the world has been talking about. But this statues is also very controversial. The cost of this project is a staggering $420 million and this is a region where many of the local people only earn $1 a day.

Whatever the complaints the statue is now complete. It stands 182 meters high that is more than double the height of the Statue of Liberty. Six time the length of a 320 Airbus.

This Statue has been built in Gujarat in India’s most western state. Once finished the site will include a visitor center, a museum inside the statue, a memorial garden, and an amusement park, There will also be a large hotel to accommodate the expected millions of tourists. Once complete there will also be a stairwell giving visitors a chance to climb to the top.
The finished work is intended to be bronze clad setting the image as an outstanding giant against the surrounding landscape.
This amazing monument is made in honor and depicting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He was India’s first home minister and deputy prime minister. He is worshiped by many people and is also known as the “Iron Man of India.”
