Brazilian wildlife expert and documentary presenter Richard Ramussen helped save the life of Zazu an endangered rescued toucan with 3D printer.
How the 3D printer saved the life of Zazu
When this toucan suffered a terrible injury to its beak it was left unable to feed itself which would certainly lead to a quick death.
Fortunately a team of vets got together an experimented with a 3d printer to make a brand new beak for the toucan which has been nicknamed Zazu.
The proceedure was overseen and funded by a famous wildlife expert and presenter Richard Ramsmussen who took the bird under his wing so to speak.
You can see from these images just how terrible the injury was. Not only could the poor toucan not eat but also was at risk of horrific infection.
It is amazing what some clearly talented people can think of to help animals in need. It is also nice to see modern technology being used to save some of our planets endangered species. Well done to Richard and all the people involved in helping Zazu. Let’s hope other vets and wildlife experts can learn from this wonderful experience.
